Your Career at M&AOur diverse client and industry base keep our staff challenged and provide them with continuous opportunities to learn. Our employees regularly interact with clients, managers, and partners, promoting a collaborative spirit and challenging them to continually grow themselves and their careers. Additionally, early in their career with McKonly & Asbury, each of our employees chooses a Career Counselor whom they will meet with throughout the year to solicit advice and discuss their personal career track. BalanceWe understand the importance of, and encourage a balance between professional, family, and personal life, and therefore, have instituted a policy of year-round flex time. Because the partners are committed to maintaining a friendly professional atmosphere and providing a balance with personal and family priorities, every summer we conduct a confidential survey (Annual Staff Feedback) of each of our accounting personnel in regard to our firm policies. The partners strongly consider the recommendations generated during the staff feedback process. Policy changes like our casual dress code and personal time off policies are a direct result of staff feedback. Additionally, we believe in giving back to the community and continuously provide opportunities and assistance for our staff, and our firm as a whole, to get involved in community service and development projects. Many of our staff members serve on boards or committees throughout our community. Making Work FunWe enjoy rewarding our employees for their hard work and effort. Our in-office dress code is "Business Casual". We save the suits for visits with clients. We regularly celebrate our firm’s victories and achievements. Every year we have an “After Tax Season Party” to relax and celebrate another season of success. Our firm’s Social Activities Committee regularly organizes other events both in and out of our offices, to benefit our employees and also their families. Some of the things we do include an annual holiday party, summer picnic, sporting event outings, treating the office to ice cream, and after hours parties at the managing partner’s house. We work hard but we play hard too! The Right ToolsWe are constantly updating our firm's technology. Our firm is fully networked and all accounting staff are furnished with lap-top computers. We have a spacious, smoke-free office, with a private work area for each staff member. We offer a defined curriculum of inhouse and external CPE training customized to each professional’s current certification level and future development goals. Getting Involved in the FirmOur employees have many opportunities to work on teams with their coworkers and to become more involved with the inner workings of the firm. We encourage our staff to be on firm committees and to be involved in other firm efforts to ensure that their voices are heard, and to help foster relationships amongst our team. A sampling of our firm committees includes the Policies and Procedures Committee, the Wellness Committee, the Service Committee, and the Social Activities Committee (recently renamed the PEP Squad!).
